CARBONDALE - James William Robinson, 86, of Carbondale died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, Marion.He worked as a coal miner for a total of 21 years, working at Freeman 4 Coal Mine near Pittsburg. After the mine closed, he worked at Brushy Creek Coal Mine, near Galatia, until his retirement in 1996.He was a member of East Liberty Christian Church.He is survived by two sons, David W. Robinson and Steve Robinson, both of Marion; four grandchildren, Todd R. Robinson, Greg S. Robinson, Hailee N. Robinson and Kristina J. Cox, all of Marion; six great grandchildren; and other extended family and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, James Homer and Delilah (Campbell) Robinson; beloved wife of 64 years, Wanda; and two brothers.Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N.
