CARBONDALE - Curtiss Vincent Sumner was surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2024, when he was called home to be with the Lord.Curtiss was born Oct. 2, 1976, in Carbondale, his forever place. He received his early education in Carbondale then he moved to Arkansas where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He then moved to South Carolina in 1999 and made his home there.Curtiss began his career at Voorhees University and continued working on his master's degree, there he met Kiersten "Kat" Tolbert, and they became close forever siblings. During his time at Voorhees, he was blessed with a son, Vincent Sumner, whom he cherished and adored.Curtiss worked his way up from the radio station to media arts director and was promoted to director Web and Broadcast Media Services in Aug. 2023.
